I am a new artist who has come to her craft in the latter years of her life – and I feel so lucky to have discovered my joy of and passion for drawing.
My preferred subject matter is people and things . . . the people and things that I know and the people and things that I love. My preferred method is drawing – I love the humanity of line, the way it captures an expression, a wrinkle, a smile, a fold in a dress. . . but I also like making things – things that aren’t just things but things that show how I feel about something or somebody.
My work is authentically, autobiographical and has previously reflected my friends and my family. The body of work I am currently working on for my final degree exhibition portrays my parent’s relationship and my father’s grief and loss . . . intentionally entropic and seen through the lens of a daughter.
